Twang's 25th Anniversary

San Antonio Based Twang Celebrates 25-Years of Satisfying Beer Lovers Taste Buds, Launches “Taste a Million” Contest

SAN ANTONIO, TX 2011 – If you have ever tried to spice up the taste of your beer with a few dashes of flavored salt, chances are you were adding a touch of Twang to your drink. Twang flavored beer salts have been a staple of beer-connoisseurs and bartenders habits across the Southwest United States for more than two decades. In fact, 2011 marks the San Antonio based, family-owned company’s 25 year anniversary and they plan to celebrate in the only way they know how – launch a “Taste a Million” contest to thank their loyal fans.

“We are so proud to call have called San Antonio home for the past 25 years and look forward to many more years of growth in the area,” said Roger Trevino, Sr., Twang founder. “We plan to mark our milestone anniversary by doing what we do best, creating new salts and other products as a way to thank our loyal customers because they are truly what motivates and drives us every single day.”

Traveling through Mexico, Roger saw first-hand how beer drinkers attempted to turn up the flavor in their favorite beverage and felt there was a niche in the market for a flavored beer salt product. Lime and lemon are considered a normal element of beer flavors today but 25 years ago, it hardly existed. That’s how Roger came up with the idea for Twang and the design of the signature mini-Twang beer bottle salt shaker.

What’s Beer Salt?
A favorite of flavor seekers and trend setters, Beer Salt is a Latino inspired citrus flavored salt used to ‘prepare’ or dress the rim of long necks or beer mugs.  Simply moisten the lip of a beer or mug.  Shake the salt onto the rim and enjoy!
